Itinerary

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, be captivated by the magnificent views of the Himalayas, including the Paro valley, Paro Dzong, and Ta Dzong (National Museum). Your tour executive will meet you at the arrival lounge with a CONVIVIAL TRIPS signboard and transfer you to Thimphu, Bhutan's dynamic capital, where old-world charm blends with modernity. After checking in at your hotel, the rest of the day is yours to unwind and relax, allowing you to adjust to the tranquil atmosphere of this beautiful country.

Begin the day with a visit to Tashichho Dzong, the grand fortress and seat of Bhutan’s government. Next, explore the local post office to view Bhutanese stamps and postcards. In the afternoon, hike to Tango Monastery, located at the head of the valley, starting from Dodena. Along the way, stop at Pangri Zampa, home to a respected astrologer. At the monastery, visit the holy caves, where the 7th reincarnate of the 4th Desi, Gyalse Tenzin Rabgye, resides. Afterward, enjoy tea and snacks by the scenic Cheri Zam (Cheri Bridge) before returning to the hotel for leisure time.

After an early breakfast, begin your scenic drive to Trongsa, passing through streams, forests, and villages before ascending the Pelela Pass. En route, stop at Dochula Pass (3,120 meters), where, on clear days, you can enjoy panoramic views of the entire Eastern Himalayan mountain range. Take a moment to visit the 108 miniature stupas located at the center of the pass before continuing your journey onward.

After breakfast, explore the magnificent Trongsa Dzong, the largest dzong in Bhutan and once the ancestral home of the ruling dynasty. Also, visit Ta Dzong, a former watchtower now transformed into a museum. Then, drive to Bumthang, one of Bhutan's most scenic destinations. Rich in spiritual significance, this valley is where Guru Padmasambhava meditated in the 8th century, making it the heart of Bhutanese Buddhism with over 40 temples. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, visit Kurjey Lakhang, where Guru Padmasambhava meditated, followed by visits to Padmanasabha Lhakhang, Tamshing Lhakhang, and Jakar Dzong. Finish the day with a visit to the Swiss Farm House, famous for its cheese and beer production.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Punakha, with a stop at the Royal Heritage Museum in Trongsa. This museum, housed in a former watchtower, offers insights into Bhutan's history and the significance of Trongsa Dzong.  Upon arrival in Punakha, check in at your commodation and relax for the remainder of the day.

After breakfast, visit Punakha Dzong, a 17th-century fortress at the confluence of the Po Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, and cross Bhutan’s longest suspension bridge, offering scenic views of the Pho Chhu River. Explore Chimi Lhakhang, built in 1499 and dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kinley, known for its association with fertility. Proceed to Paro, check in at your hotel, and visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, built in the 7th century. Finally, explore Ta Dzong, originally a watchtower and now the National Museum, perched on a hillock with stunning views of the Paro Valley

The day’s highlight is a hike to Taktsang Goemba, also known as the ‘Tiger’s Nest’, one of Bhutan’s most revered pilgrimage sites. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche flew here on the back of a tigress, meditated in a cave for three months, and spread Buddhism throughout the Paro Valley. At 900m above the valley, Taktsang is an architectural marvel, offering a breathtaking four-hour hike. Afterward, visit the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, built in 1647 to commemorate Bhutan's victory over the Tibetans. The Dzong, set against the backdrop of Mount Jumolhari, provides a stunning view, especially in clear weather.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel. The tour concludes with cherished memories as you are transferred directly to Paro International Airport for your onward journey.
